How to allow all Project Wonderful ads in Adblock (and Adblock Plus)
Hello!
Today I woke up with this thought in my mind for the nth time, and found out how to do it, and I figured some of you might like it too.
I really like Adblock and Adblock Plus. But I also really like Project Wonderful, and if I find out that a site I like runs ads with PW I tend to unblock ads on that page. I just saved about 5 and a half minutes of the rest of my life with this handy advice. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but if I’m not, viola:
- Go to your Adblock Plus “options” page.
- Click “Add your own filters” tab.
- Paste this in and add it:
(If you can’t copy and paste this for some reason, click here. It wouldn’t all fit on my page without a page break.) - ?????
- Many indie websites PROFIT!
Thanks for the info! I want to support tasteful ads, but I don’t want to let in the flashing siren garbage porn ads.
Argh flashing ads! Those are the worst! Also stuff that objectifies women, but they don’t make my brain stop working as much, even though I hate them equally.
I’ve been using @@projectwonderful for a long time. The rest of that junk isn’t really necessary.
Sweet, that works in plain AdBlock for Opera, as well, thanks! 🙂
Both work in plain AdBlock for chrome (thanks Seth for that simplification). I’m abandoning adblock plus because it’s failing to block gmail ads nomatter what settings I apply, while plain AdBlock does it by default and I’m enjoying the makers’ attitude to payment (pay as much or as little as you like, and if you don’t like it, you can get a refund!).
I just uninstalled Adblock Plus and installed Adblock based on this comment, and I feel better already. 🙂 Adblock Notplus did require the full @@||projectwonderful.com$image,script,object,object_subrequest,stylesheet,xmlhttprequest,document though for some reason.
