I’m not kidding: that t-word used to set me off into a deep fear and sadness, sometimes up to dry heaving from stress, because of a comic chapter I read that somehow hit home REALLY precisely. Any time I try to discuss it with anyine other than my primary and my two best friends, I get intense confusion or (more often) people telling me to shut up and stop being a Tumblrite/stop making light of people with actual… those things.
It still makes me uncomfortable when it’s used in this or a similar context, but at least I can say it in the context of part of a gun these days. I don’t try to keep people from saying it, but I do try to avoid saying it myself (and “tw” fortunately doesn’t set me off the same way).
That one in the last panel really sucks, and I have no idea why anyone isn’t bothered by it.
